Trolly line

Trolly line

Trolly line is a specific area within Jaldapara National Park, located in the foothills of the Himalayas. This rain forest sanctuary, which is part of the Dooars region, is a popular tourist attraction. The Torsha River flows through the sanctuary, which is primarily covered with tall grasses and is rich in vegetation and wildlife. The main attraction is the Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros, as the sanctuary holds the largest rhino population in India. Other animals found here include tigers, elephants, deers, sambar, barking deer, spotted deer, hog deer, wild pig, and bisons. The area is also a paradise for bird watchers, with various species like the crested eagle, Pallas's fishing eagle, and shikra, as well as jungle fowl, peafowl, partridges, and lesser pied hornbill. The area is also home to a variety of reptiles, including pythons, monitor lizards, and cobras.

The "Trolly line" itself is a major tourist attraction within the park, and it's a place where herds of elephants can be seen crossing rivers and streams. The name "Trolly line" refers to a specific road, which was once a trolley route, and is now used for jeep safaris. The forest department has even diverted the entry of private vehicles and tourists from the Holong Bungalow area to the Trolly Line to reduce pressure on the jungle. This area provides a great opportunity to spot wildlife and enjoy the natural beauty of the park.
